History

In 2003, out of frustration with then-President George W. Bush’s restrictions on abortion access, several members within the Texas abortion industry joined together to develop The Bush Relief Fund. This non-profit Fund’s mission was to financially support women seeking the health care they need and to protect women’s access to reproductive health services, including abortion.

With the election of President Barack Obama in 2008, The Bush Relief Fund transformed in to The Stigma Relief Fund. This transformation reflected their dedication to assisting women’s access to reproductive health services as well as continued devotion to eliminating the harmful stigma surrounding abortion care.
